Yet another exceptional offering from UKEHigh.
CHORDcamp gave me three surprises:
The first was how much music theory I had "almost" forgotten.
The second was how quickly Steve brought me back up to speed on the basics.
The third was the amazing ability of all my colleagues to quickly grasp the essentials of introductory music theory.
The last speaks volumes not only to my colleagues' intelligence and eagerness to learn, but also to Steve's excellent pedagogical methods. Highly recommended.

Steve McNie is a great teacher!
He knows how to break things down into easy-to-understand basics then step through logically to more complex ideas in a way that makes sense.
I learned more in five weeks than I learned in a few years of study when I was younger, and I finally understood some concepts that had previously eluded me. The class was challenging, but really enjoyable. I highly recommend it!

You'll never mistake a sus4 for a major 7th again!

Steve McNie is an excellent and compelling teacher.
He made music theory accessible by conveying advanced concepts with clarity and passion.
His depth of knowledge aided him in answering student questions, and the joy he took in sharing the information showed.
I left the course feeling comfortable with all sorts of musical concepts to which I had previously been unexposed, and have since been able to apply the knowledge I gained to creating and notating more advanced musical arrangements on the ukelele!

I signed up for this series of workshops with very minimal knowledge of music theory and notation.
Steve broke a huge amount of information into small, logically sequenced chunks- making it possible for me (with only my ta ti ti ta's from elementary school : ) to be able to begin to read music and understand how chords are constructed.
This was a terrific entry point into music literacy.

I have avoided learning to read (and understand) music all of my life.
In some respects it may have been fear, but this course, and especially Steve's gentle ability to present and communicate clear concepts are a total a game changer.
Thank you for taking away my excuse for musical development. . . it was a gas.

I always enjoy Stephen McNie.
Tapping out time in session 1 was very useful:I had never hoped to be able to read the time in musical notation.
Now there is hope! Every session added a few pearls of musical insight.
It was fascinating to see the path Steve chose to share some of his knowledge.

This was a very worthwhile course and it accomplished for me what I hoped it would that being a demystification of chords.
I didn't expect to get as much out of it as I did. The course made me want to get deeper into theory, something I have found confusing and intimidating in the past.

Chord camp was more than I expected.
My knowledge of how to understand music is ten fold what it was before the classes.
I would love more advanced classes now. Bring it on Steve!

Steve is a dedicated and patient teacher.
Chord camp is great for anyone who is ready for five weeks of turbo charged music theory.
